Mossel Bay Summer: Good to Excellent

Mossel Bay’s tourism industry is enjoying a “good to excellent” summer holiday season - although, ironically, a run of wonderfully balmy weather has affected the numbers at some attractions and activities.
Accommodation establishments have posted strong occupancies, although some of the mid-market establishments did report vacancies during what is normally their busiest time of the year.

Three Mossel Bay Properties Listed for AA Accommodation Awards

Three members of Mossel Bay Tourism have been named finalists in the 2011 AA Travel Guides American Express Accommodation Awards.
The Protea Hotel Mossel Bay and Dibiki Holiday Resort have both won in their categories in past competitions, whilst the Garden Route Game Lodge was a finalist in last year’s list.

Buffalo Rally gathers momentum

Buffalo Rally gathers momentum
The 2011 Buffalo Rally will take place in Mossel Bay from the 18th to the 20th of March.
This will be the sixth time the Rally, which is organised by Cape Town’s Nomads Motorcycle Club, will meet in the Garden Route town.
“The Buffs is a win-win for everyone involved,” said Mossel Bay Tourism’s Marcia Holm. “It brings a huge injection of interest and visitors to the town, it’s super fun for the participants, and it raises an enormous amount of money for a good cause.”

Mossel Bay: Open For Holidaymakers During the World Cup.
Mossel Bay has space for South African holidaymakers during this year’s FIFA World Cup.
“There seems to be a perception that all available accommodation in the Garden Route is fully booked for the period of the World Cup - but this is quite incorrect,” said Anthony Doherty, Mossel Bay Tourism’s Board Member responsible for marketing.
“Mossel Bay is open for business as usual - and all our accommodation establishments are asking their usual, reasonable winter holiday rates,” he said.
