Mossel Bay author publishes Garden Route Trees book
Mossel Bay’s Elna Venter has announced that her book on the trees of the area will be published later this month.
‘Trees of the Garden Route - Mossel Bay to Storms River’ is the first book to cover the subject since F. von Breitenbach’s famous ‘Southern Cape Forests and Trees,’ which was published by the then Department of Forestry in 1974.

Pinnacle Point Golf Course: Flowering and Flourishing
Mossel Bay’s Pinnacle Point Beach and Golf Resort is looking better than ever before, with the course in immaculate condition, and the fynbos in the rough flowering dramatically.
“The developer of the property is experiencing financial difficulties, but this hasn’t affected the management or running of the Resort, which is under the control of the Homeowners Association,” said the Association’s general manager, Carl van der Linde.

Mossel Bay Tourism Supports Operation Smile
Media Release 9 September 2010
Mossel Bay Tourism has announced its support for the new Garden Route Chapter of Operation Smile - the non-profit organisation that provides free treatment for people suffering from facial deformities such as cleft lips or cleft palates.
“We decided to do this because Operation Smile is all about ‘Changing Lives One Smile At A Time’ - and, in the tourism industry, your smile is almost your most important asset,” said Mossel Bay Tourism’s Marcia Holm.
Madeleine Snyman decided to champion the local Chapter after attending one of Operation Smile’s missions to the Congo.

Mossel Bay Golf Club - which prides itself on its friendliness - will be hosting 30 Days of Golf this April.
“We’ve got organised events on every day of the month,” said the Club’s CEO, Bertu Nel. “But, although we’re expecting to be very busy, we’ll always have room for visitors who want to play.

Local Government Declares Its Intent To Combat Climate Change
(For Immediate Release Feb 4, 2009): MOSSEL BAY – Southern Cape local government leaders and representatives today signed an historic declaration of intent to combat the effects of climate change through an integrated response strategy.
The flood–hit Eden District Municipality held a three-day summit this week where South African and international experts discussed a strategy for coastal towns aimed at adapting to climate change and mitigating against its effects.
