Be swept away to a farm life, scenic views and the possibility of the silence broken by lion’s roar. A short circular route of approx. 2 km with challenging slopes. The route will start at the homestead where art and farm products (in season) can be bought. On the way we descend moderately while viewing young Macadamia trees and farm animals. We pass our self-catering cottages overlooking a dam (bird viewing). We ascend with a moderate, but long hill towards the lion enclosure. Enjoy beautiful views with coffee and rusks (morning walk) or a glass of wine and a canapé (afternoon walk). Opportunities to see game such as impala, zebra, waterbuck, nyala and buffalo depending on where they roam and great expectation that our three lions will be awake and friendly to welcome you. We make our way back to the homestead hoping for possible surprises such as vervet monkeys, a bushbuck or the Knysna Loerie.

BRING: Full water bottle, binoculars (not a necessity), umbrella (in case of rain).
EXTRA NOTES: We accept max 10 persons per walking slot – book early to avoid disappointment. We love spending quality time, not quantity time.
DIRECTIONS: Homestead of Hakuna Matata Game Farm, Great Brak River. From the N2, take the off-ramp to Great Brak River. Turn right into Long Street coming from George/ Turn left into Long Street coming from Mossel Bay. Continue until the third Stop sign; then turn left into Amy Searle Street (white church on left corner). Drive for approx. 11 km (you will see the final Hakuna Matata road sign on the right). Turn left on to a gravel road, drive 1 km. Turn right after passing two dams on right-hand. Park outside under the Jacaranda trees. Please come sign in at reception. Hakuna Matata Game Farm is listed on Google maps, please check that the directions mimics the above (google might want you to drive a different back road).
