CANSA Relay For Life is a global event that unites communities all over the world in the fight againt cancer.

Relay For Life is a very special event, during which cancer Survivors and their Caregivers, are celebrated at a VIP function and during celebratory laps, loved once lost to cancer are remembered during the candle-lighting Luminaria Ceremony, and all participants commit to fight back against cancer.

Round about 1:00 am to 2:00 am it represents the time treatment starts – exhaustion, feeling sick, not wanting to go on, possibly wanting to give up.

At Relay, teams of 10 – 15 friends, neighbors, families and co-workers commit to having at least one team member walking around the track at all times for 12 hours, because cancer neither slumbers nor sleeps.

Teams are encouraged to raise funds in support of the fight against cancer. Teams camp out overnight around the track.

Entry is R600 for a team of 10 or R900 for a team of 15.
