On Valentine’s Day, ArtSpace proudly brings another perfectly South African concert to life.
Showcasing several comical personas, Cornelle Carstens is taking romance or the lack of it, to another level. Cornelle will be making magic with her self-styled characters such as Jo Joubert, about ending life as a bachelor and how unrealistic wedding expectations can crash and burn. All poignantly expressed in a beautiful and bilingual South African dialect.
Those who attended the sublimely popular Perhaps Love concert last year will know that Cornelle is a force majeure who could compete with the best in the world. Her characteristics – not to mention the tongue-in-cheek humour – are pure magic.
The evening promises to have the audience laughing at the joys and perils of romance and ourselves. It will be in three acts and will be accompanied by Abé Meintjes on vocals and guitar.
Groovy Kind of Love takes place on Friday, 14 February, at the Dias Museum. It starts at 19:30 and doors open at 18:00. Tickets, at R130 per person and which include a glass of wine, may be obtained at the Espresso Spot located in the Dias Museum.
